Bodhi conducted research for International Alert to assess how green recovery strategies within the 'Build Back Better' (BBB) agenda are supporting peace in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. The study identified existing opportunities and entry points for peacebuilding programming. Based on our findings, we developed policy recommendations to promote peace-centred green recovery strategies within the BBB agenda. This research aimed to enhance the integration of peacebuilding principles into post-pandemic recovery efforts across the three countries. It also served the purpose of positioning International Alert to contribute to the global conversation on the agenda and influence it in an informed way and establish the need to integrate climate action and peacebuilding. Data collection for the study was qualitative, involving a desk review and key informant interviews.
