Umarbek Islamov

Umarbek is a third-year Politics and Development student at SOAS University of London, originally from Uzbekistan. He is currently on a student placement at Bodhi. He is the co-founder of Uzbekistan’s Student Union, where he has contributed to student-led initiatives and advocacy efforts.

He has experience supporting projects with international organisations, including the World Bank and the United Nations, and previously interned as a Summer Consultant at KPMG. Umarbek is particularly interested in international development, governance, and policy-oriented research, with a focus on development contexts in Asia.
